Our Vision

At Our Home we believe in cooperation beyond borders, respect, accountability, volunteerism, transparency, and above all, childrens rights.

Our Home’s mission is to establish a sustainable, innovative refuge structure that recreates a family environment, and brings each of these independent family units together to form a community committed to health, education as well as psychological and social welfare.

We have two homes in Kerala, South India, for children who have either lost their parents, or grown up on the streets without the safety and comfort of a supportive family environment.

These children are now enjoying the beneficial atmosphere of their own home.

We started in 2002 with a little boy named Christen (please click above on "Our Children" to read more about this).

Our Home’s vision is to create a thriving and joy-filled village. Small homes in one compound can accommodate seven children, supervised by carers who act as role models and nurturers. Each home will function as an independent family unit, and the collective houses will serve as a large community network.

In 2009 Our Home Charitable Trust India purchased 3.5 acres of beautiful land thanks to generous donations and construction of the first homes has begun as of May 2010.

Our Home is dedicated to the children’s optimal development and success in life. We are committed to cultivating a safe and optimistic domestic environment, in which the children feel supported to become highly influential global citizens, who can speak first-hand of care, love and peace, and whose aspirations are limited only by their imagination.

Our other projects include the Good Shepherd Public School, which educates 375 local children from the local area. Many of these children are from poor families.
